Developing locally can be a chore sometimes. Your environment won't be exactly the same as the rest of your team, or the production environment and that can get tricky at deployment. Virtualizing your development and using Vagrant can help, but is it perfect? Virtualizing your local dev environments can improve and speed up your development process. Vagrant does a great job of shouldering the weight in place of your standard XAMP/MAMP options. Even with virtualized environments you may still run into issues here! The dev environments are consistent, but the dev team doesn't run off of the same computer and so you may run into bumps launching sites. This session will go over best practices and how you can get the most out of a vagrant setup without all of the headaches.
